Crossroads of civilizations, with the crossing of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean, Tangier spreads out a splendid bay with the foot of green hills. From the Kasbah, one can visit the palace of the Sultan, where are gathered all the facets of Moroccan art. If you prefer it, you can also stroll with leisure in the lanes of the médina, which will lead you towards the terrace which overhangs the Straits of Gibraltar. Very close, of multiple excursions are offered to you, like the Cape Spartel, extreme points of Africa, not far from the famous caves of  Hercules, and the Cape Malabata.

The first in a long tradition, the Tangier Royal Golf Club symbolises the Moroccan passion for the game.
The 18 holes weave their way through cypress, pine and eucalyptus trees, crossing the mountain, sloping down and climbing again... The fifth, a par 4, demands particular attention and a great deal of dexterity with its unexpected hill closed in between pine trees and a tiny, sloping green... but the reward comes when you reach the top; the roofs of white Tangier gleaming in the sunlight as far as the eye can see.

Excursion Number 3 :

Asilah City

 20 € per person 

Asilah is located 42 km southeast of the town of Tangier on the Atlantic coast. The town is completely surrounded by Portuguese defensive walls that were erected in the 15th century. (Images 1 & 2) There are extensive beaches and a natural harbor on the northwest side of the town. Farmlands surround the town and there are no factories in the immediate area. To the north of Asilah lie beach resorts and to the southeast lie squatter settlements called mixik. This northern Atlantic coastal area falls into the Mediterranean climate zone bringing mild wet winters and dry warm summers. The presence of the Atlantic creates more rainfall than in the other Mediterranean areas.

Tétouan City

Tétouan was founded at the III century av.J.C. by the Mauritanians who gave him the name of Tamuda. To Ier century, the city passes to the hands Romans who make a strengthened city of it. At the XIV century, the dynasty of the mérinides seizes the control of Tamuda and builds the new Tétouan city. But its instability due to a growing influence of the pirates and the rebels involves the destruction of Tétouan per Henri III of Castille in 1399. The population of Tétouan increases and becomes in XVIème century mainly Moslem and Jewish. Piracy disappears but the prosperity of Tétouan related to the pirate activity declines. At the XVII century, the city occupied by the Spaniards during three years increases his activity thanks to trade with Spain. It becomes in 1913 a town of Spanish protectorate until the independence of Morocco in 1956.
